Medical Terminology for Healthcare

Course Description

The Medical Terminology for Healthcare course introduces the healthcare field with a strong emphasis on medical terminology. Students will learn foundational concepts in healthcare and develop a comprehensive understanding of medical terms, their origins, and applications in clinical settings. The course will also cover basic medical abbreviations, common diseases, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and healthcare professions. Students will study anatomy and physiology with an emphasis on the body systems, their interrelationships, diseases, and disorders while acquiring skills with a focus on patient interaction, appointment control, document processing and recordkeeping. By the end of the course, students will be able to effectively use medical terminology in healthcare-related contexts.
